Matthew teaches Church History at Trinitas Akademie, and assists in other courses when needed. He also serves as the Assistant Pastor of Christus Gemeinde Wien (Christ Church Vienna), a German-speaking church in the confessional heritage of the Particular Baptists.

Matthew originally hails from South Carolina and moved to Austria to pursue graduate studies in another field in 2012. He met his wife, Lina, in Austria, and they married in 2015 and have three young children. Matthew has worked in full time Christian ministry since 2016, and completed his Master of Divinity at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2022. He has been an elder at Christus Gemeinde Wien since February of 2023. ​
 

Matthew’s interests include biblical theology, baptist ecclesiology, christian philosophy, education, theology proper, history of the Middle Ages and early Puritanism, political theology, and preaching.
